I feel a victim of capitalism by purchasing Vista in good faith and being FORCED to purchase another version/upgrade of Microsoft Outlook. I refuse to be bullied and will be considering a MAC in the future. So, you're going to spend thousands on a Mac to save less than $100 on a new version of Outlook.

Now if I can just pull it off when I format and do a "clean install" of Xp. Vista is very hardware intensive - if you do go that route - get at least 2gb of RAM and preferable 3gb. Get a good standalone video card with at least 256mb. If you do go with XP, make sure the hardware is up to running Vista in the future if you want. I use AMD processors personally but have nothing against Intel

For example vista is a huge leap back.. how back? Its back to the time with crappy versions of windows the winMe era. You should be careful of what you consider progress... You might be surprised but mark my words.. the future is far different than where MS is leading us now. -- 50 Ways to leave your Vista.

So is Windows Vista in limited use. It doesn't vacuum the carpets, wash the dishes, or do the toilets. Duuuhhh! Yes it's in limited use. What you should take into account is looking towards your own future in cobbling together PCs. Nanotube construction is now entering the cpu designs that will make these big

We hit London Drugs, Best Buy, and Future Shop. Mrs. Phist didn't want Vista, and about that she was quite firm. If Vista was on the Laptop it would have to be "upgraded" to XP/Linux dual boot. The above needs verification, as I'm not Vista user, and cannot verify this by myself. If this is true - there's a question, is it a permanent change, or just "passing phase" - and in the future the directories names will be "localized" in Vista as well, like in earlier versions. -- ZB.

64 bit Vista
Vista is not XP+eye-candy. It is a different and new OS. Some XP tasks take 4-6 clicks to complete and only take 1 click using Vista. Once XP gets to the actual tasks, Vista has already completed it! These "benchmark" test are flawed and can be very misleading. Anyway who really cares. Vista is the future and the

Microsoft throws in the towel on Vista
But vista comes in 2 flavours - 32 bit and 64 bit. 32 bit is quite painless. 64 bit is painful. 64 bit requires driver signing, and specific 64 bit drivers. Even a lot of software has dramas on 64 bit. Basically, although 64 bit will be the way of the future, at this stage it doesn't have sufficient application and
